SAUL’S LAMENT

The blade cut deep
Into the soul of Saul
Releasing him from his torment
Of king-ship prophecy defeat
Constant war against his conscience
His spear throwing temper
Cursing God’s chosen one…

Hunting him like a wolf
From cave-to-cave wilderness grave
Knowing he would fail to capture the man
After God’s own heart…

This son of Jesse
David slayer of giants
Standing defiant
Yet who would not cut a hair
From his king’s head…

God raises, God humbles
God brings low
God of all gods
The Holy one
Beyond understanding or comprehension…

Man’s futility laughable
For nobody is promised tomorrow
All die, rich poor old young
Nothing new under the sun
Everything is repeated
Heaven’s rebellion – Man’s wickedness
The created versus the creator
Lost in pride’s delusion…

Oh! Saul mighty amongst men
Paying the price
We all pay for our folly
Necromancing at Endor…

Yet humanity’s hope
To be found in Yeshua
Upon Jerusalem’s tree
Restoring the universal order…

The King of Kings returning
Upon a pale horse
Bringing eternal peace
The Lion laying down with the lamb
Sons daughters of Abraham Isaac Ishmael
Finally reconciled
For from the river to the sea
All humankind shall be free…..
