INCENSE OF THE SOUL

When all that is left is me
An aged man without conceit
Left to ponder
No judgement – No rage
Much forgiveness
Much grace
Virtue signaling a little out of place…

Yet so much love to share
Engulfing passion that still enflames
A Gordian knot of desire meets need
Just to hold you through the night
Taking it all to the wire!
When all is done
Listening to you breathe
Gently stroking your hair
As you deeply sleep…

Morning returns, I must take my leave
Wander to the mountain
For like Moses
I shall not enter the promised land
Now sitting amongst the angels
With my God who always understands
When all that’s left is me
A humble aged man…..
